Andaron Saga is a Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones hack by Mangs & some dedicated Fire Emblem enthusiasts. A heart gripping story and high octane gameplay awaits within.

First gaiden chapter of many, but unlike your standard gaiden chapter fare, the ones in this hack serve to let you chat it up with your fellow party members and other individuals. It's not often something happens during one that can potentially affect your run. If you don't want to chat it up with anyone, you can end your turn on the orange arrow to end the chapter.

Nothing real out of this world in group chats besides Lilinette having some...vivid descriptions of a drink she's trying, a bald headed guy who seems like a productive man of culture, and the owners of the bar who are rather in to stuff related to corpses and all that.

Before closing this video out, there's two things to talk about. First up is talking about the rest of the squad that joined last time.

First up...Lilinette is a mounted healer which means she's staying on my party for a very very long time, probably to the end of the game even. Hp & def are rather weak and not the best in terms of growth either (40% hp growth, 10% def) so you need to keep her out of harm's way until her speed & luck have time to develop and bring her dodge chances up.

Lilinette's personal skill is Demoiselle, reducing the received damage all male allies within two spaces of her take by 2. Could combo real nicely with Jakka's Loyalty to make him take 5 less damage in combat.

Next up...Samuel is a very typical Jagen styled unit. His growths are bad save for skill, but his stats are strong enough to carry him through the early game and help take the heat off of other party members. He also has weapon ranks in all four physical weapon types, giving him incredible flexibility for how he wants to approach a fight.

Oh, and good luck trying to dodge Samuel's attacks early on. His personal skill, Battle Veteran, grants him 1 additional damage and 10 hit for every 10 levels. Since he's promoted, he's counted as having 20 levels on top of what he already is at, meaning 2 extra damage and 20 hit. He could go weapon type disadvantage into battle and still have very good hit rates to be honest.

Coming up next, the guy hellbent on singing songs until someone breaks, Angelus. He grants an extra turn to someone so he's god tier just for that alone. His growths are actually real good too. Str is non-existant as is expected, but his next lowest one is def at 30% which isn't bad at all. Everything else is at 45% or greater with his best one...magic at 80%? Seems odd considering he has no way to take advantage of it, but one possibility may present itself in the far future, we'll see.

Angelus, if he wishes, can opt to use either his Dark Hymn or Fiery Chant rings to grant another turn to a target and give them a buff for the turn. Dark Hymn raises avoid by 10 while Fiery Chant raises crit rate by 10.

If all that wasn't awesome enough, Angelus has a great personal skill in Charisma. Allies within 3 spaces of him get 10 extra hit & avoid. Suffice it to say I'm fielding him as often as I can going forward.

Finally...Shom is the magical genius of the group who only has two bad growths, luck & defense. Luck is at 10% which means crits are going to be an issue for him as the game progresses unless you feed him luck boosting stat items while defense is only a touch higher at 20%. Like Angelus, he has an odd growth...35% str. If he gets to promote, he can, no joke, actually find a way to make use of it. He could even very well do that earlier than expected because something in chapter 7 later on is going to require me to have one or even two very strong characters.

Shom's personal skill is Glacies, granting him a chance equal to his skill to boost his damage by his res. I can only imagine what a Glacies enhanced crit would do to an enemy, especially with a tome only he can use right now, Hoarfrost. Very nice mt, hit, and a good dose of crt. Even debuffs the enemy's speed by 4 when it hits. Don't think the debuff can stack above 4 though and it decays by 1 each turn.

Also, Hoarfrost is effective against dragons. Totally not related to the chapter 7 issue I need to be ready for when time comes, no sir!

Finally, the other thing I wanted to talk about revolves around one of the bonus maps at the end of the game. Unlocking it requires a bunch of goals to be met such as turn limits for a majority of chapters and some characters to be alive. I'll go into the turn limits more next time.

As for the characters...there's a total of four that must stay alive throughout the game. Two of them are currently in my party, Colter & Angelus. Thea, while not required, can join the two if she wishes if she's promoted and alive.

Chapter 2 next time!
