In this Subnautica 2 guide, I’ll show you where to find all of the important surface items and points of interest in the Hot Zone biome.
This guide focuses on the surface-level Hot Zone content, including blueprint data boxes, audio logs, character inventory and quickslot upgrades, supply crates, decor unlocks, and a bonus easter egg at the end. If you are trying to fully clear the Hot Zone without missing important unlocks, this video will walk through the major items you should look for.
The Hot Zone is one of the more important progression areas in Subnautica 2 because it contains several useful base-building blueprints, vehicle-related unlocks, story logs, and character upgrades. It also connects to deeper areas like the Hot Caves, but this video is focused on the important items you can find around the surface of the biome.

At the end of the video, I include a bonus location for the Googly Eyed Clam easter egg. It is not required for progression, but it is one of those weird Subnautica 2 secrets that is absolutely worth seeing if you like strange little hidden details.
The Hot Zone can be easy to rush through, especially if you are only heading toward one story objective or trying to reach the Hot Caves. But if you slow down and fully search the surface area, there are a lot of useful items hidden around the biome.
