In September, 2014, I traveled north from California to visit my daughter in Portland, Oregon. I managed to get out a couple of days to shoot some videos. This was done one afternoon at the Vancouver, Washington, Amtrak station where trains from Portland, Spokane and Seattle converge at the station. The nearby Columbia River Bridge was undergoing maintenance so traffic was quiet when I first arrived. Once the work was complete and the bridge reopened, you’ll see two northbound UP freights side by side as they head toward Seattle. They’re followed by a Portland bound BNSF stack train while the Seattle bound Coast Starlight makes its scheduled stop on time.
