A short video from 2Dgameartguru.com on creating a simple unicorn design in vectors using just lines, deforming, and modifying them.
This video is a quick creation of a little unicorn using just lines [with adjusted pressure to taper them] and the node as well as gradient tool. To adjust the lines I use the pressure curve in Affinity Designer to taper the stroke thickness. Most of it can be created with other software tools such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape.

As part of the challenge on the Facebook group Inkscape - hands-on I recorded my workflow when creating designs based on basic shapes. I create this fishmongers store using shapes - circles, rectangles, and stars - with added text elements. Most of the shapes have solid fills [I did cheat a little and used a few gradients] and use shading shapes inside clip groups for detail and depth.
Reusing, duplicating, and modifying existing elements speeds up the creation process.
