In this quick video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com, I will create a simple tiger pattern using the pencil tool and the stroke pressure setting in Affinity Designer.
This video explains the basics of the stroke pressure panel to taper the stroke on both ends, adjust the thickness and create different pressure settings for different lines.
Most of the functionality shown in the video can be created with other software tools such as Adobe's Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape with minor alterations and different names for the tools used.

As part of the challenge on the Facebook group Inkscape - hands-on I recorded my workflow when creating designs based on basic shapes. I create this fishmongers store using shapes - circles, rectangles, and stars - with added text elements. Most of the shapes have solid fills [I did cheat a little and used a few gradients] and use shading shapes inside clip groups for detail and depth.
Reusing, duplicating, and modifying existing elements speeds up the creation process.
