In this video tutorial, I will show you the use of vector brushes in Affinity Designer to add simple patterns to your illustrations.
I have been working on a brush set with basic lines and patterns for Affinity Designer. These are brushes for the vector persona to be assigned to a vector line or shape. This video shows the way I use them as well as the creation of two additional patterns [bricks and roof tiles].

As part of the challenge on the Facebook group Inkscape - hands-on I recorded my workflow when creating designs based on basic shapes. I create this fishmongers store using shapes - circles, rectangles, and stars - with added text elements. Most of the shapes have solid fills [I did cheat a little and used a few gradients] and use shading shapes inside clip groups for detail and depth.
Reusing, duplicating, and modifying existing elements speeds up the creation process.
