Turning a circle into a sphere with a radial gradient is one of the fastest ways to create 3D-looking objects. In this video, I will use the effect combined with symbols for some fun patterns.
I also explain how to create the 3D look via layer effects to keep the light setup consistent when rotating clusters of spheres. The Inner Bevel and 3D FX make it possible.

Most of the functionality shown in the video can be created with other software tools such as Adobe's Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape with minor alterations and different names for the tools used.
