In this Quick video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com I use symbols to place a design over the edge of a 3D box mockup
I make use of symbols to update the placement in the mockup while using individual scaling and skewing to create the illusion of the edge. Affinity Designer v1 has no perspective deformation tool but sometimes you can get away with scaling and skewing.
Most of the functionality shown in the video can be created with other software tools such as Adobe's Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape with minor alterations and different names for the tools used.
