Two steam locos on separate excursions would grace the Roman city of Bath as B.R 70000 Britannia & LMS Black Five 44871 would do the honours. First up in the video was 44871 on the Bath and Bristol Christmas Express. The LMS Black Five is seen steaming through the scenic Avon Valley Line at Avoncliffe & Freshford. Later on we capture Britannia heading out of Bath at Oldfield Park with the empty stock for this Steam Dreams tour. This is swiftly followed by a shot of 70000 at Newton St Loe. Next up and about an hour later, we see the return of 44871, again at Newton St Loe, but this time high up and in the other direction. The light just about held for this shot. For the final scene we capture Britannia charging through Keynsham on its return to Bath with that fantastic chime whistle in full effect. A great day out and both locos were in fine form.
