Introducing 2024 #astronautscholars Luke Coffman and Susan ‘Lainie’ Harris from @cuboulder!
Luke is pursuing a dual major in physics and mathematics with a minor in quantum engineering. His research in quantum information theory focuses on entanglement and learning theory, including quantifying and distilling entanglement, with applications in quantum computing and the development of a quantum-enhanced internet. Lainie is pursuing a dual major in biochemistry and molecular, cellular and developmental biology with a minor in chemistry. Her research in the Wang Lab focuses on developing novel resistance-modifying agents, which are compounds that re-sensitize resistant bacteria to existing antibiotics.
The University of Colorado Boulder Astronaut Scholarships are sponsored by Steve & Jill Wirth, in memory of Scott Carpenter.
