Introducing 2024 #AstronautScholar Tomás Collado from the@WashUSTL!
Tomás is pursuing a major in mechanical engineering and planetary science. As the recovery lead for WURocketry, he led a team in designing and constructing the recovery system that ensures the rocket returns safely to the ground. He has also been involved in a Planetary Mission Design course, where he worked with a team to research and propose a hypothetical mission to Neptune’s moon, Triton. Finally, this spring he worked with another student on a research project to collect data on particulate pollutants over WashU’s campus using drone imaging technology.
