This clock was very clean. I did take the movement apart only to remove the two main springs so I could clean and oil them. The Main Springs are a Barrel Spring that does not normally get taken apart, cleaned and oiled. This is why I did take them apart because the oil inside could be drying up and getting sticky. Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.
