You will find that not all clock collectors was a Japan clock. As for me, If I like to looks of the clock I will buy it. There are brands I don't normally want to buy and most the time I stay away from battery movements. This clock is on the smaller side and fits wonderfully in my bathroom. I do really like the looks of this clock. (Yes, I said bathroom. I am running out of wall space).

Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.
