The Open escapement was the first one I ever had. The movement was very clean and didn't want to take it apart for giggles. Love seeing the action on the front when the clock is running. I only blew out the movement and oiled the clock, as you should every 5 to 7 years to keep the oil fresh and not drying up.

Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.
