Bought the Clock for less than $50.00 to include shipping. When buying from GW, you don't normally know if the clock is a running clock. This one needed oiling and the Balance Escapement fixed.
The reason why this clock is a Carriage clock is because you can carry the clock with you and not worry about the clock stopping because of the Balance Escapement.

Here I do most of my work on clocks. Mainly cuckoo clocks, yet I am always looking for the unusual and eye catching clocks. Some of the clocks I get into are ones that need saved from the dump. They fell off the wall from not securing the clock to the wall using the stud behind the sheetrock. Some of the clocks were laid to rest out in the garage or barn and I except the challenge of getting them back together again.
A well loved clock at one time is one that has a lot of wear and you find old bushings that might need to be replaced.
