#1 Reason I dont have kids (sexual abuse) vegan atheist and more 2019-02-07 | I have decided to share this with the sole purpose of making people think twice before bringing a child into this world, and to make them question their motives for procreating. I also want to say that I'm not trying to shame anyone that already has children. I know that most people don't talk about being abused or raped, so many other people go through life thinking that life is better than it actually is, so they won't even consider the posibility of any of their children being abused. And I think it's time to change that. I think that people need to know just how much sex abuse/rape can affect your life, so that they know it's something their own child can/might go through, and they can decide if they want to take that risk with someone else's life. I know that many people have gone through similar or worst experiences and have overcome the trauma, and have lead happy, healthy lives. But many more never have the fortune of going to therapy, or having loving, supportive families or a spouse/partner that help them get through this. Even though I no longer believe that a woman's virginity determines her worth, I grew up believing this and for many years it did affect me, even though it doesn't anymore. But I know that there are many young girls that were raised just like I was that do believe this, and they will be harmed by these same stupid beliefs.I do want to say that someone very special has come into my life that has been helping me heal these wounds. My parents are pressuring me to have kids vegan atheist and more 2018-06-04 | I have heard many people say that when their parents or in-laws ask them why they don't want kids, and they say "because I don't like children, because I would be a terrible parent, because there is so much violence in the world, because they cost too much money, because they are a huge responsability, because people have kids for selfish reasons, because humans are destroying the planet, because I have other plans for my life", etc. their parents/in-laws say these are just silly excuses, and they are not good enough reasons not to have kids. I think most people are selfish and they want to have the experience of being a grandparent, that they don't consider what is best for their kids or their future grandkids. Not because you enjoyed having kids means everyone else should feel the same way. I don't think parents should impose their will on their grown children.In past generations, being a mother was the greatest thing a woman could experience, because that was pretty much the highest thing she could aspire to. Now days, a woman can be a scientist, a judge, the president of a country, she can travel the world, and all these things can bring her joy and satisfaction. Being a mother is just one experience of MANY.I find it curious that parents are always saying they made sacrifices so their kids would go further than they did, but yet they want to see them stuck in the role of a parent. Being a parent is very limiting, so where is the progress? I ask myself, what was the benefit of having your daughter get a degree if she is going to end up like you: at home taking care of babies? And if you say that you can help her take care of them so she can work...this might benefit you because you will enjoy your grandkids but it will be unfare to the child because he will be away from his mother. I think that most people never truly consider the negative posibilities when having children, they only focus on the positive ones. And I think that most of us have suffered mental and/or emotional trauma and many go ahead and have children without ever healing their wounds first, so they end up hurting their children and scewing them up. I personally don't think it is moral to have children, but I think it is especially immoral to have kids before you have dealt with your issues first. Nature tricks you into reproducing vegan atheist and more 2018-04-16 | I feel as if I were trying to be manipulated by nature in order for it to fulfill its purpose: reproduction. Maybe some might find this enjoyable and for them life and reproduction has been a great experience, but that is not the case for everyone. Perhaps there is a purpose to life, but I do not see it. I see it as an endless chain of suffering and pain, with some joy mixed into it. I forgot to mention another way in which I think nature deceives us: in thinking we can/will undo the wrongs done to us through the life of our children. Some might think "my life has been crappy, but I will have children and give them everything I didn't have/experience and this will somehow make up for the bad experiences of my childhood." I think it is unfair to bring a child into this world in order for you to somehow make your "wrongs" right. Our desire for justice can make us want to procreate in order to live through our children the lives we wish we would have lived ourselves.
