A special request in honour of our Matthew Finding hope off the beaten track 2021-07-19 | Our hearts are broken but we are proud to declare that our little boy's mission on earth was completed on 15 July 2021 at about 8pm, and he accomplished his calling well.Matthew's nanna planted an olive tree for him a few months before he was born. Matthew's olive tree struggled but it didn't give up and today it is the flourishing tree you see on this video.We would like to invite you to join us in honouring our Matthew by planting a tree, or a flower, or a seed. Finding hope off the beaten track 2019-01-20 | Since implementing the Family Hope Center program in October 2017, we have seen huge improvement in Matthew. We have weaned him off 2 anti-epileptic medications, without replacing them with others, and his seizures have decreased significantly in intensity, duration and frequency. We love our little man. His yawn is BIG, his gob is BIGGER and his smile is the BIGGEST BESTEST!

Matthew Manuel Nel - I dont want to do arm exercises! - 2015/05/30 Finding hope off the beaten track 2015-06-01 | Matthew is almost 16 months old and was born with semi-lobar holoprosencephaly, a rare brain disorder. He is a miracle! He should not be alive according to medical reports and statistics but he is defying the odds. It is a challenge to get any physiotherapy done with Matthew as we have to catch him in a "clear" moment i.e. not having seizures and not zonked out from seizure meds. Here I caught him in a clear moment and using the opportunity to do some physio, captured on video how he "doesn't want to" do a certain exercise. I caught a couple of those precious yawns too!
