📼Video Summary:
Technology that used to be only possible in Science Fiction is now slowly turning into reality. 3D printers can make almost anything and the technology gets better every year. It's a type of Additive Manufacturing. Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is the most common type of 3d printing. Filament is the material used to create the 3d objects. Polylactic Acid or PLA is the easiest filament to get started with but there are many others. Bambu Lab is a company that creates 3d printers - they are on the cutting edge of the technology. The A1 3d printer is the one shown in the video. The Toolhead and the Build Plate move around to create your 3D Object. Several stepper motors are involved to move the pieces of the machine. The Slicer is what creates the G-Code which is then used by the 3d printer. The AMS lite can be used if you want to print in multiple colors. There is a lot of waste that comes because of this process - Purged Filament or "Printer Poop". The A1 is a "Bed Slinger" and is an Entry Level 3D Printer. The X1-Carbon is an improved 3D printer. It's called a "CoreXY" because the Toolhead only moves along the X and Y Axis. This allows for much more stable 3d prints.

📼Video Summary:
The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, Missouri is right along the Mississippi River. It was designed by Finnish-American Eero Saarinen and built in the 1960s. It's called an Orthotropic Design because the structure on the outside supports all the weight. The shape of the Arch is an Inverted Catenary Curve. Creeper Derricks were used to build the arch - slowly going up the sides as it increased in height. Then the Stabilizing Truss was installed to brace the sides of the arch. The last piece is the Keystone - to get it to fit they sprayed water over the south leg and installed Hydraulic Jacks to widen the gap.
The Tram system was designed by Dick Bowser. There are eight cars on each side - each tram car can fit 5 people. You enter the museum by going underground. There's a museum inside with six separate areas to learn more about the arch. You can also visit the Tucker Theater, Arch Store, or Arch Cafe. The tram ride will take about 3 or 4 minutes to reach the top. The Oberservation Deck can fit about 100 people and there are 16 windows on each side.

📼Video Summary:
The Vehicle Assembly Building has been used since the 1960s to build the rockets before they lift off from the launch pad. It has been primarily used by 3 rockets: the Saturn V, the Space Shuttle, and SLS or Space Launch System. The smaller part of the building has the Low Bays, and the main part of the building has the High Bays. There are 4 High Bays, and then down the center of the building is the Transfer Aisle. Large yellow cranes help move the pieces of the rocket. There's the Transfer Aisle Crane and then the 4 High Bay Cranes. As the rockets are assembled there are retraceable Work Platforms that can be moved in to enclose the rocket. The Crawler-Transporter helps move the rockets to the launch pad along the Crawlerway.

📼Video Summary:
Krispy Kreme is famous for its donut machine. You can watch the machine from behind a glass wall inside the store. The first Krispy Kreme store was in 1937. In the 1950s they used the Krispy Automatic Ring-King Junior to make the donuts. The machine today is a lot bigger and can churn out over 3000 donuts per hour! The machine has several main parts: mixer, extruder, proofer, fryer, glaze waterfall, retail curve, and cooling tunnel. The machine can be modified to make different types of donuts; some of them are dipped by hand into colored icing. Experienced workers need to monitor the machine at each step of the way. Just in case, they also have the emergency stop button.

📼Video Summary:
The Sphere is an entertainment venue that was completed in September of 2023. It was built just off the Las Vegas Strip. It has the largest 360 degree wrap around LED screen in the world. It has 1.2 million lights - these are nicknamed "Hockey Pucks" because of their size and shape. The inside has 9 different levels, but the public will be mostly concerned with 7 of them. On the Main Level is the Atrium which has lots to do before your show. Aura the Robot uses AI to interact with those around her. There is also a holographic grid above your head which looks like something straight out of Star Trek. There 160,000 speakers directly behind the screen. These use Beamforming Technology to give you "headset sound without the headset". Combine this with Haptic Technology which will gives viewers a completely immersive experience. But don't take my word for it, you have see it for yourself.

📼Video Summary:
The International Space Station (ISS) took over 10 years to construct. Most of the pieces were brought up and assembled by the Space Shuttle. There are two sides to the station - the Russian Orbital Segment and the United States Orbital Segment. On the US side - the modules are connected with the Common Berthing Mechanism or CBM for short. The Space Shuttle used it's robotic arm called the Canadarm - this could lift and move around objects in space. This video summarizes 4 shuttle missions at the beginning stages of construction. STS-88 brought up the Unity Module and attached it to the Russian module Zarya. STS-98 brought up the Destiny Module and attached it to the forward side of Unity. STS-100 brought up the Canadarm2 - which was crucial for constructing the station. STS-104 brought up the Quest Airlock and attached it to the side of the Unity. There is a lot more to the stations construction, maybe we'll cover that in a future video!

📼Video Summary:
The USS Arizona is the famous battleship was destroyed during the Attack on Pearl Harbor - Dec 7, 1941. It was commissioned in 1916 and traveled to many place throughout the world. The battleship has 4 triple turrets - making a total of twelve 14inch guns. Loading one of these turrets involves Powder Hoists, Shell Hoists, the Mechanical Rammer, Platform Trays, and Breech Block. The ship had 8 decks, the ships engines and boiler rooms were located on the bottom deck. The bomb that destroyed the Arizona landed by turret #2 and probably landed in one of the magazine rooms. The explosion killed most of the men on board. Today there is a memorial constructed overtop of the Arizona - you can see this in person if you visit Hawaii. The Shrine Room contains the names of all those that were killed on the Arizona.

📼Video Summary:
The Magic Cube was invented by Ernő Rubik in 1974. Then in the 1980s it was renamed to the Rubik's Cube. The Speed Cube is a special version of the Rubik's Cube that is meant to be solved very quickly. Those that try to solve it quickly are called "Speed Cubers". They use tricks like Corner Cutting and Algorithms to eliminate time. The most popular method for solving the cube is CFOP which has four steps: Cross, F2L (First 2 Layers), OLL (Orientation of Last Layer), and PLL (Permutation of Last Layer). Other methods for solving the cube are Roux, ZZ, and Petrus. Inside the speed cube you'll find the core made up of six center pieces, and then the twenty "cubies" which consist of 12 edge pieces and 8 corner pieces. The Tension System is made of 6 springs inside the Center pieces. Some versions of the cube magnets inside the core - using MagLev technology. Lots of different brands of speed cubes - get yours at SpeedCubeShop.com

📼Video Summary:
The elevator (or lift) has been around for almost 2000 years now. Elisha Otis invented a safety mechanism in the 1850s that allowed for widespread use. After that, elevators because the core of most buildings. Hydraulic Elevators use a cylinder and a piston to push the cab up from underneath. Traction Elevators have a motor that pulls the elevator up using cables. The Door Operator opens both doors - the Cab Door and Hoistway Door. The Interlock is the mechanism that ensures that the Hoistway Door does not open until the cab is right behind it.

Video Summary:
The SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft is now launching astronauts from American soil. The Spacecraft has two parts: the capsule and the trunk. The capsule can fit a crew of four. The trunk has the radiator panels and the solar panels. The Spacecraft is launched aboard the Falcon 9 Rocket which is a 2 stage rocket. The launch happens in Florida at Launch Complex 39A. The Transporter Erector moves the rocket from the Horizontal Integration Facility right up next to the Fixed Service Structure. The astronauts get to ride in a Tesla Model X. They take the elevator up to the top and then walk across the Crew Access Arm to get to the White Room. This is where Crew Ingress will happen. From launch to orbit takes about 9 minutes. Over the following 24 hours the Crew Dragon will catch up and dock to the International Space Station. First the series of 3 waypoints, then Crew Hands Off Point (CHOP), then Soft Capture and then Hard Capture. Then say hi to the astronauts that are already on board the station.

📼Video Summary:
The VCR (Video Cassette Recorder) was most popular during the 1980s and 1990s; however, it's still a really neat peace of technology! It plays VHS cassette tapes (Video Home System). The magnetic tape is what stores the video and sound information. When you put it in the machine - the magnetic tape will be pulled out by the Guide Rollers and then wrapped around the Drum. Inside the Drum are several heads that will do the reading the writing of information. The Erase Head removes information when it's in record mode. The Audio and Control Track Head write sound and extra information to the magnetic tape. The Pinch Roller will then pull the tape along so it continues to move past the Drum.

📼Video Summary:
The Mars2020 Perseverance Rover took about 8 years to complete here on Earth. Built at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California. Then it was shipped to Kennedy Space Center in Florida where it was launched. It took 7 months to get to Mars. Parts of the spacecraft include Cruise Stage, Backshell, Descent Stage, Perseverance, and the Heat Shield. Getting to the Surface of Mars is called EDL - Entry, Descent, and Landing. This must happen autonomously. The main purpose of the rover is to search for signs of life. Scientific instruments include SuperCam, MastCam-Z, MEDA, SHERLOC, WATSON, PIXL, MOXIE, and RIMFAX. The rover also brought along a helicopter called Ingenuity. This is the first helicopter to fly on another planet!

📼Video Summary:
The clock tower was built in the 1840s and 1850s but it wasn't until 1862 that the clock was fully functional. It has been ticking almost non-stop now for almost 150 years! There are stairs that go up the very center of the tower and they are also putting in a service elevator in one of the open shafts. The Clock Room is where the mechanism is - this is referred to as the Clock Movement. It's made up of 3 gear trains - the Striking Train, Going Train, and the Chiming Train. The Going Train turns the hands on each of the four dials, the Chiming Train rings the 4 quarter bells, and the Striking Train is responsible for ringing the largest bell "Big Ben". During the video you'll learn more specifically about the parts of the Going Train: the Escape Wheel, Gravity Arms, and the Pendulum. The bells are located above in the Belfry. Every half hour bells will play at least part of the Westminster Chimes. At the very top is the Ayrton Light - used to indicate when Parliament is in session down below.
The renovation that started in 2017 is set to complete in summer to 2022.

📼Video Summary:
The Pave Hawk is a modified Black Hawk helicopter owned and operated by the United States Air Force. It's meant for combat search and rescue. It usually has a crew of 4: pilot, co-pilot, and 2 Special Missions Aviators. Main parts of the helicopter include rotors, fuselage, cockpit, cabin, tail, stabilator, and the tail rotors at the very end. Refueling the helicopter can done in the air by using the re-fueling probe on the front right side. The there are two guns on the side - it's called a GAU 2 Mini gun. The helicopter is powered by two Turboshaft Engines and the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU). Moving the helicopter is done with the controls inside of the helicopter: the Collective, the Cyclic and the Tail Rotor pedals. The Pave can also be folded up and fit inside of a larger plane for transportation.

📼Video Summary:
The Enigma Machine was used during WWII by the German Army to get keep messages encrypted. It looks almost like a typewriter. There are 26 keys and 26 letters that can light up. These lights tell you how the keys will be scrambled up. The machine works like an electrical circuit. The rotors towards the back of the machine do most of the scrambling by mixing up the wiring. The plugboard in the front also another layer of encryption. Keyboard mechanism connects or disconnects the circuit to turn on a lightbulb. The path of the wire is difficult to follow so I recommend following it through in 3D! Each time a key is released - the rotors in the back will turn. This is done by the mechanism which includes the actuator bar, ratchet, pawl, and the index wheels.

The Soyuz is a Russian Spacecraft that can fit a crew of 3. It is launch aboard a rocket which is called the Soyuz Rocket. It's launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The rocket is assembled horizontally, then transported by rail, and then lifted up to the launch pad. The support trusses hold the rocket in place and the umbilical tower provides fuel and electricity. Parts of the rocket include 3 stages, the launch shroud, and then at the top is the Launch Escape Tower with the Stabilizing Grid Fins. For the launch, the crew members will wear Sokol Spacesuits. The commander is in the center and two Flight Engineers will be on either side. The Zero-G Indicator will float once they are in orbit - this only takes about 9 minutes. Rendezvous and Docking is how catch up with and attach to the International Space Station (ISS). Coming back to earth involves Undocking, De-orbit burn, Re-entry, and Touchdown on land.

📼Video Summary:
The Soyuz is a Russian Spacecraft that can fit cosmonauts or astronauts inside. The spacecraft has been in use since the 1960s - over the years it has docked with many space stations. It's split into 3 modules: the Orbital Module, the Descent Module, and the Service Module. Only the first two modules are pressurized. Rendezvous and Docking is how the spacecraft catches up with and docks to the International Space Station (ISS). Now days this only takes about 6 hours! This involves Insertion Orbit, Hohmann Transfer, Transfer Orbit, and Phasing Orbit. Docking to the station is done autonomously by the Kurz Docking System - this involves the Fly-Around, Station-Keeping, Final Approach, Soft Capture, and Hard Capture. The Soyuz Space will attach to the Russian Orbital Segment of the ISS which has compatible drogue and probe docking ports. The crew usually stays attached to the station for 6 months before coming home.

📼Video Summary:
The Statue of Liberty is located on Liberty Island in New York City. It was a gift from the people of France in the year 1886. The tablet in her right hand is the declaration of independence. The statue was designed by Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi using a method called Repoussé. This involved making a life size plaster model first and then hammer copper sheets around it. The support structure was designed by Gustave Eiffel - the same person that helped build the Eiffel tower in Paris, France. The statue was built in Paris, France and then shipped across the ocean in 350 pieces. You can go inside the pedestal and climb the stairs, then if you have a ticket, you can climb the spiral staircase to get to the very top - The Crown. There's an emergency elevator inside just incase anything goes wrong. At one point they did allow the public into the torch but this stopped in the year 1916.

📼Video Summary:
This bowling pinsetter machine is called a Brunswick GSX Pinsetter. It's commonly used in the United States and in other areas of the world when playing Ten-pin Bowling. The Ball Cushion Assembly absorbs the impact of the bowling ball. The knocked over pins are called "Deadwood". The Bowling ball makes it's way to the Ball Accelerator to bring ball back to where the bowlers are. The pins get knocked into the Ball Pit, moved on the Transport Band, then up on the Pin Elevator, and then falls on the Distributor. This is the part that distributes the pins to one of 10 Pin Stations, and then down below to the Setting Table. The Sweep Wagon moves the knocked over pins off the lane. The Drive Frame consists of 3 motors to keep the machine moving.

📼Video Summary:
The two types of scales: a Hanging Scale and a Floor Scale. The Hanging Scale using a Rack and Pinion Gear and two springs to tell us how far much weight is on the scale. The Pinion Gear turns and affects which number the red pointer is going towards. This works because of Hooke's Law - which tells us the relationship between how much the spring stretches to how much force is used. However, if the Elastic Limit then the scale may no longer work properly. The floor scale works off of similar principles but the spring is a lot smaller and the weight is distributed across several supports. If the scales get off then they may need to be calibrated to adjust where the 'zero' mark is.

The Poppin' Pals toy is a kids toy that's common here in the United States. There are several variations of made by different brands - the one in this video is from playskool. There 5 different ways to open the doors - there's a slider, switch, button, turn key, and another switch. The doors open by a torsion spring. A small lever normally holds each door but. Each of the five mechanisms press down the lever which allows the door to open. If the squeaker gets annoying you can actually remove it and the toy will work just fine. This toy is fun to take apart but can be difficult to put back together!

📼Video Summary:
There is a long process to getting the Space Shuttle ready to launch! If it lands Vandenburg Air Force Base in California then it will need to be flown across the United States to Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This is done on the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft (SCA). All 135 Space Shuttle Launches happened from Florida. There are two launch pads - 39a and 39b. First the space shuttle is taken to the Orbital Processing Facility (OPF) where maintenance takes place. When there's a Rollover to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) which is the Orbiter is lifted up and bolted to the Solid Rocket Boosters (SRB) and External Tank. The Shuttle is on top of the Mobile Launch Platform (MLP) and is then moved by the Crawler Transporter (CT) to one of the two launch pads. The launch pad is made of the Fixed Service Structure (FSS) and Rotating Service Structure (RSS). Other parts of the launch pad include the Orbiter Access Arm (OAA), Gaseous Hydrogen and Oxygen Vent Arms, Tail Service Masts (TSM), Sound Suppression System, and the Flame Trench. The launch involved Lift Off, Roll Program, Max-Q, and Main Engine Cut Off (MECO).

📼Video Summary:
The Space Shuttle is made of up of the Orbiter Vehicle, the External Tank, and 2 Solid Rocket Boosters. Missions were launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. There were five orbiters built to travel to space: Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis, and Endeavor. Parts of the space shuttle include Fuselage, Wings, Thermal Protection System, Reaction Control System, and Space Shuttle Main Engines (SSME). The Crew Compartment consists of the Flight Deck, Mid Deck, and the Equipment Bay. Most missions had 7 astronauts on board. When they do an EVA or "Space Walk" they can enter the Air Lock to go out into the Payload Bay. The Remote Manipulator System (RMS), also known as the Canadarm, is used used to move payloads around in space.

I apologize for not including metric units in the video. I normally include both metric and imperial but this video I got lazy. (and yes, even as an American I agree our system is pretty wonky😫)
I made a mistake with the smoke grenade launchers in the video. They don't emit smoke directly - they shoot out grenades around the tank and then those grenades emit smoke.
For those of you that noticed the anime paint job on the helicopter in War Thunder - yes this is a real thing. Do a google search for "Kisarazu Sisters"

📼Video Summary:
Come see how a tank works! In this video we're going to look specifically at the American M1A2 Abrams tank. The tank weighs 68 US Tons and can go up to 42 miles per hour. Parts of the tank include the caterpillar tracks, the wheels, the hull, and the turret. The caterpillar tracks are used to displace the weight of the tank allowing it cross rough terrain. The tank holds a crew of 4 - the driver, gunner, commander and the loader. The driver is up front and the other 3 are in the turret. The engine is in the back of the tank, it's an AGT-1500 which is powered by jet fuel. The main gun fires shells at about 3500mph. It can hit a target 2 miles away. There are a few countries besides the USA that use variants of the M1 Abrams tank. M1A2 Abrams tank continues to be the main battle tank for the United States military.

📼Video Summary:
The Space Needle is located in Seattle Washington. It was built in 1962 just in time for the World's Fair. The top looks like a Flying Saucer and is meant to inspire people to look towards the future. The Space Needle is an icon to Seattle just as the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, France. Around the Space Needle there is plenty to see and do as well. The bottom of the building has a large spiral ramp that tourists get to climb on their way towards the elevators. The top of tower has the observation level with an outdoor deck, a service level, and The Loupe which features a revolving glass floor. The center of the tower has supports for the 3 elevators and the stairs which are mostly used for emergencies. The Skyline level is for private events at the Space Needle.

This video covers a complete tour of the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars. The Millennium Falcon is a modified YT-1300 Corellian Light Freighter. The starship has had many owners including Lando Calrissian and Han Solo. The outside features of the ship include the mandibles, docking ports, sublight engines, heat exhaust vents, rectenna dish and the quad laser cannons. The inside of the ship includes the main hold area, 3 other hold rooms for cargo, the cock pit, crew quarters, engine room, gun turret access, escape pod access, quadex power core, fuel system, sublight engines and the hyperdrive. Due to heavy modifications to the ship - it is considered the fastest starship in the galaxy.

Combination Lock on Amazon: amzn.to/2LjN2Mj
I've used a Combination Lock for years but I've never really understood how it works until I made this video. The combination lock that I used in this video was from Master Lock but there are other companies to make them too. Parts of a Combination Lock include: Case, Shackle, Shackle Collar, Lever, Latch, Cams, Washers, Spring, and the Backplate.

The Apollo Lunar Module was the part of the Apollo Spacecraft that landed on the moon. The LM was split up into two parts - the ascent stage and descent stage. For the landing, both parts went to the surface of the moon. When it's time the leave only the ascent stage leaves the surface. The descent stage has fuel and oxidizer tanks in the center compartments. Equipment was also stored in the outer corners - these were called quadrants. They stored items such as the Lunar Roving Vehicle, scientific experiments, a camera, and water and oxygen tanks. The ascent stage was where the astronauts lived. It had the controls, two windows, more equipment, a docking hatch, and the engine to leave the lunar surface.

The Hindenburg is a largest airship ever built. Unfortunately it caught fire and was completely destroyed. There is still debate over what caused the accident. This video shows the inside of the Hindenburg: the A Deck and B Deck, the crew areas, control car, cargo areas, and engine cars alongside of the ship. The 16 gas cells held the ship up but were filled with hydrogen which is extremely flammable.
There are many myths surrounding the Hindenburg: airships.net/hindenburg/disaster/myths

The cube works by a sphere in the very center that has several curved panels coming off it. This sphere is attached to one of the corner pieces. The other seven corner pieces have plastic extending outwards that slide in between the curved panels on the sphere. There are several variations of the 2x2 mechanism - your 2x2 cube might have a different mechanism.
