His name was Cleo Wright. A documentary and podcast series was created called Silence in Sikeston in partnership with KFF Health News, World Channel, Retro Report, and Local, USA to tell the story of the crime and recent incidents, what it's like to be Black in the Bootheel, and explore how racism has caused a public health issue in the Black Community. Some Black People, The Improv Shops All-Black Improv Team | Living St. Louis Nine PBS 2024-08-27 | “When you’re with people that share the same culture as you… you can be your full self.”Performers at the Improv Shop created “Some Black People”, an all-Black improv team, to encourage and support performers of color. The Improv Shop offers classes and workshops, and as a predominately white performance medium, they have created opportunities to be more inclusive of diverse performers and audiences.
