In my appearance on GBNews's Saturday Five programme, I found myself outnumbered five to one — but I wasn't there to play along. When the panel tried to make the conversation about allegations of antisemitism within the Green Party, I called it out for exactly what it was: a deliberate attempt to distract from what is actually happening in the Middle East. The UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry has stated this clearly, and although the final determination is many years away, the International Court of Justice concluded in January 2024 that there is plausible risk "that Palestinians in Gaza face acts prohibited under the Genocide Convention". Anyone who has watched the videos on social media knows there has been a genocide perpetrated in Gaza, with forcible displacements and mass civilian casualties that the world cannot continue to ignore. Weaponising accusations of antisemitism to silence those who speak plainly about these atrocities is a tactic, and a transparent one at that. When one panelist dismissed the UN itself as "a corrupt organisation," it only proved my point: if you refuse to accept the findings of the UN or the ICJ, there is no honest debate to be had — only distraction. I believe the British public deserves more than deflection, and I will keep speaking uncomfortable truths wherever I am given a platform, however hostile the room.
