We have all switched to cloth bags to avoid plastic. But what about the plastic in our clothes which is a far more direct way for it to enter our body. Your skin absorbs everything it touches.
Have a look at your wardrobe today and check the labels. Most of it will say polyester, nylon, acrylic or spandex. In simple words, plastic woven into fabric 🧵
And it does not stop at you. Every time synthetic clothing is washed, it releases thousands of microplastic fibres into the water. Those fibres go into rivers, oceans and eventually back into the food chain. The more we buy, the more gets produced, and the more plastic and fast fashion waste is generated 😷
It is easy to think one person quitting will not make a difference. But every industry shift in history started with enough individual choices adding up. Yours is one of them.
You don't have to throw everything out at once. Start replacing one piece at a time, beginning with what you wear the most. Cotton, linen and bamboo are natural, breathable and biodegradable. They let your skin breathe, do not interfere with your hormones and leave no microplastic trail behind 🌿
