Bodyweight training exercises are great! They have a lot of benefits. They're accessible to everyone, you don't need any equipment, you can do them anywhere, and you can develop a lot of strength and coordination from doing them. However, there are a lot of good reasons to not rely exclusively on bodyweight exercises.
Humans are incredible object manipulators and it's a huge part of who we are as an organism. Carrying or moving an object creates a very different neurologic requirement than moving just your own body. With static exercises, it changes the position of your center of gravity. Your body has to adjust to new positions that it wouldn't have to deal with empty-handed.
In the case of more dynamic movements like kettlebell swings, your center of gravity changes throughout the movement. Your body has to make constant adjustments throughout the swing as your center of gravity changes position. These are very complex movements that need to be practiced to develop proficiency. They're good for your body and they're good for your brain. Bodyweight exercises are fantastic, but think about expanding into manipulative movements as well!
