On November 22, 2012, during a Thanksgiving night game at MetLife Stadium, the New York Jets gave up three touchdowns in a stunning 52-to-53-second span in the second quarter to the New England Patriots. The New England Patriots went on to win the game 49-19.

Tom Brady connected with Shane Vereen for an 83-yard touchdown pass following a fumble by Jets running back Shonn Greene.

On the ensuing kickoff, Jets returner Joe McKnight fumbled the ball after a hard hit by Devin McCourty, and Julian Edelman scooped it up to score a 22-yard special teams touchdown.

On the very next offensive play, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez ran directly into the backside of offensive lineman Brandon Moore—the infamous "Butt Fumble"—allowing Patriots safety Steve Gregory to recover the loose ball and run it in for a 32-yard touchdown.
