The Step Pyramid, also known as Djoser's Step Pyramid, is in Saqqara, Egypt, and it's the oldest (approximately 4,700 years old) pyramid in Egypt, and it may be the oldest pyramid in the world! It played an instrumental role in the evolution of the construction of the pyramids. As you will see in the video, the architecture of the Step Pyramid led to the Bent Pyramid which lead to the Red Pyramid, which led to the famous Giza Pyramids.
I was fortunate to have my guide Ahmed, who is an Egyptologist, bring the history of the Step Pyramid to life. He talks about the gate and corridor leading to the Step Pyramid courtyard and tells us about how the Step Pyramid was built. After that, we go inside the Step Pyramid to see the tomb of King Djoser, and then visit the Southern Tomb, which may have the intended original site of Djoser's Tomb. After that, we walk to a viewing point where we can see the Bent Pyramid and Red Pyramid in Dahshur, which were the next steps in the evolution of the building of the pyramids after the Step Pyramid.
If you are coming to Egypt, I strongly recommend hiring Ahmed as your guide for your private or group tour. Here is his email address: ahmeddhammaddd@gmail.com and his WhatsApp number is +20 106 062 5244.
