When I planned my trip to Cairo, I didn't include the Cave Church (also known as the Church of St. Simon The Tanner), but thankfully my guide Ahmed, who is an Egyptologist, recommended I see this unique church, which has its roots in a miracle. The church was built into the side of a mountain and 20,000 people can pray in its amphitheater. Another unique thing we saw on the drive to the Cave Church was the City of Garbage, as 14,000 tons of garbage are brought to this area every day and then burned. If you're planning a trip to Egypt, I strongly recommend hiring Ahmed as your guide for your private or group tour.
