The Franciscan church, monastery, and pharmacy in the walled city of Dubrovnik, Croatia are just some of the many highlights of this ancient city. The original church was destroyed in the Earthquake of 1667 and the only original part of the church that remains is the South Portal, which was sculpted in 1498. The beautiful church interior was reconstructed in Baroque style. The friary was built in 1360 and contains two cloisters. The upper cloister is reserved for the monks. The pharmacy is the oldest still-functioning pharmacy in Europe and the third oldest in the world. We will visit the Old Pharmacy Museum, which features pharmacy furniture from the 16th century, and various historical presses, mortars, scales, and recipes. There are also several liturgical artifacts that are centuries old.
