I had a piece of spalted elm which I have turned a bowl from. The colours of the wood and the patterns of the spalting were quite interesting so although I had originally planned to do something with colour on this piece I felt that the natural look was far more interesting. As such I finished it with a coating of Wood Wax 22 which really made the grain pop and shine.
Looking closely at the patterns on the wood I felt that I could see the resemblance of a number of different shapes, animals and characters and I wonder what other people see in the wood. Please let me know.
