Using a beech log which was cut down from my Grandma's garden I turned this bowl. It turned really nicely and it had an interesting inclusion in the middle of it which gave it an additional feature I had not planned for.

As it is quite a pale coloured wood I decided to stain it Golden Oak using Chestnut Products spirit stain which helped bring the grain patterns to life.

I used friction polish as a final coat to give it a lovely shine.

It a a good size bowl which would make a perfect fruit bowl.
