Recently I got a big load of free wood and I'm very happy that I have it but now it needs processing. When left untreated, the ends will start cracking very quickly after cutting. Leaving it as large chunks and cut off the cracks when you need a blank is one way but you will inevitably lose quite a bit of the wood in the process.
By now I just know that will want to have a lot of blanks in the 15-25cm range for making Change Bowls and other small objects. Using just one big chunk that was massively in the way I made about fourteen blanks and a little bit of firewood from the offcuts. The ends were sealed with candlewax and in this video I'm showing you how I did that. I think this will work fine.
