Well this was fun to make!
Every step was a new one and it took a lot longer than I had thought it would. But then that also took a whole (long) day to do the animation as well!
I guess there were a couple of things I mentioned that I would explain...
The first one was how it took me an hour to only get that far... well it was a rather lopsided piece that I could only turn in short bursts... if I ran it at speed it would probably pick the trailer up off it's blocks and away it would go!!
So turn the lathe on... get a gouge in the way... and get 2 or 3 rotations before you have to turn it off again! Long process... but the trailer is still where it is supposed to be!
The other one was while I was drilling out the lower body...
As I knew I wanted this to be able to sit on a shelf and not be worried about it falling off... I left the bottom third pretty much solid... where the legs go is below that point ... so I used the Forstner bit to not only drill in as far as needed... but I then used it as a burr to hollow out around the hole as well so I could feed the cords through up into the body. While leaving it bottom heavy... it is still very light... this was one of those Cedars you see in hedges.... where one has died and just becomes a skeleton to hold everything else up... so it was really dry and still quite sound in the middle!
There were several pieces of footage that went missing... so the second camera angle was either not available or I found it rather useless as the only thing you could see was a slab of wood rolling past you! It's not like anything was missed by not having it there! Amazing how you can loose film clips like that! I only have one card for my main camera but 3 for the old one... it will only take a 2gig card! And who knows... the footage may have ended up somewhere else on the computer somewhere!
That piece about the pop can... I only meant a small piece of it... not the whole can!!

We (the bear and I) are curious as to who you think he is... he certainly does need a name... He's always late for dinner... just cause I didn't know who to call!
I think there will possibly be travel pictures uploaded from time to time. He was out exploring the yard the other day and met Newton... the landlords dog... and while he was a little nervous... not wanting to draw attention to the fact that he resembled both a ball and a stick... they got along just fine! And getting the sun on his face again was just like when he was a cub!
I think there are two more issues I have to deal with... one is ... I hope I haven't offended any people who have lost an eye... If I have I am sorry!
The other thing is the Moss... Somebody in dry Colorado (I think) commented on the Scotch Broom moss... so I though I would show some of the moss from around the yard here! Happy mossing!
