Spilikins are an everyday item... more commonly known as Crib Pegs!
I am somewhat displeased with this video as the focus is both too far and too near the pieces! But I think it is clear enough to be able to tell what it is that I am doing!
Something a little different here is the White Tail Deer Antler. Interesting to turn but you are limited as to how big you can turn. The center is very spongy and soft which makes it unstable to use on its own. But the edges and the points make some really nice projects!
The Ebony is a very brittle wood and I have seen pieces twist apart on me... and you can see that one of the pegs is a little thin on one end!
It has been interesting to work on pieces this small... it certainly changes how you operate!
