This is everything a violin concerto should be - a thrillingly emotional tug-of-war between soloist and orchestra. Schuman's third revision (the one you're hearing now) was completed in 1959. For me, the work shows a great deal of ingenuity and striving for perfection.
The second movement is divided into the following sections: Introduzione: Adagio - Quasi cadenza - Presto leggiero - Allegretto - Adagietto - Poco a poco accelerando al Alegro vivo
