This collection of six pieces for piano represents the way an individual idea (musical or other) starts off in one direction and ends up going down a completely unexpected path. Three of the six movements are presented here:
- a shift (second movement)
- a dialogue (third movement) - 3:52
- a reconfiguration (fifth movement) - 7:01
In addition to his piano works, Sebastian Currier has created works for orchestra and chamber ensembles. His Time Machines was commissioned by Anne-Sophie Mutter and completed in 2007, the same year as Departures and Arrivals.
