In a world where we seem to hold onto exhaustion as a trophy, slowing down can feel like you are failing or that you are “less than”.
Have you ever told yourself you don’t like rest?
Maybe you have said something like:
“I’ll rest when im dead.”
“I just can’t sit still, I need to move.”
“Yoga is just too slow for me.”
“I don’t meditate, my mind is way too busy for that.”
I am guilty of having said all of these on multiple occasions lol, but now I am realizing that I didn’t like those things because they were uncomfortable.
It was uncomfortable to sit still in my thoughts, and uncomfortable feeling the guilt try to wash over me for resting.
Resting isn’t always as easy as you might think. It can be pretty uncomfortable if it is not somethign you are used to but it is JUST as important as whatever you have on your to do list.
In the latest episode of the Coach Cody Podcast, @dezhartwell and I are closing out our stress series with “How to Actually rest”.
Make sure to give it a listen!
