Slow Start is an Ability that completely cripples Regigigas as a Pokémon. Unreasonably and unfairly so. But why did the game's designers choose to screw over this one Pokémon so badly?
Believe it or not, the answer isn't because of "lore". And neither is it because of "balance".

![Why Mario Kart World’s game prices have Increased (an economics explanation)
Mario Kart World costs $80 USD! Yeah, makes sense.
Based on my knowledge about economics and the gaming industry, I didnt find the raised prices for Switch 2 games to be unusual. I didnt even consider that anybody would question it.
Clearly, I was wrong.
Perhaps this is a sign that my finance MBA actually mattered. That, or corporate is taking over my soul (a disturbing possibility...)
Since I paid for an actual financial education, I might as well share some knowledge with others. Hopefully this video proves more educational than most others out there.
Time for an economics lesson.
This video covers basic economic theories involving inflation, economic growth, tariffs and taxes, and retailer & distributor behaviour. It also covers game development costs and logistics.
It is NOT an acceptable substitute for an actual college-level economics lecture (stay in school, kids).

![What makes Every Bug Pokémon Good (from a Game Design Perspective)
I shall try to convince you that every Bug Pokémon has the potential to be good.
The keywords being Try and Potential.
The Bug Type is almost universally agreed to be the weakest Type in all of Pokémon, and for good reason. Its offensively very mediocre, being resisted by almost as many Types as Steel, but is only defensively average to compensate, resulting in several disadvantageous matchups.
In spite of these shortcomings, the game design of Bug Pokémon has evolved to compensate in several other ways, resulting in several of these seemingly weak Pokémon being able to punch unexpectedly high above their weight class.
Dont believe me? Lets see if this video changes your mind.

![Valves Corporate Hierarchy and the TF2 Bot Crisis
Lets dive into the unusual corporate hierarchy behind Valve, one of the most powerful game companies in the world, and explore both the complexities of their corporate hierarchy and its impact on their games developments.
We will explore the subject of how companies address people who cheat and exploit their games, the problem of the TF2 Bot crisis, and how Valves corporate hierarchy makes this issue far more complicated than it needs to be...
In some ways, the TF2 Bot Crisis can be considered more of an inevitability than anything else...

![Game Designer Explains: How DLC gets Made
DLC announcements often come with a mix of negativity, confusion and complaining. Pokémon Legends Z-A is one such example of this - despite it being scheduled for release next year, there was no shortage of complaints surrounding the announcement.
Most of this negativity stems from people being unfamiliar with the game production process, resulting in misconceptions about exactly when DLC gets planned and work on it actually begins. Contrary to popular belief, DLC production actually begins both earlier and later than people expect.
So let me share a bit about my own personal experience as a game designer, and explain a bit about how the game production works and how exactly does DLC fit into planning and development.

![Controlling Time via Game Design [Game Designer Explains]
Control Time, and you control THE WORLD.
Controlling Time is an appealing fantasy for many people (partially thanks to a certain long-running manga series). However, it is something which is rarely implemented as a mechanic for many video games.
While it is not technically difficult to implement, it creates numerous design-related challenges, which sometimes make it more trouble than it is worth.
However, game developers are mad. Its practically a pre-requisite for the job and skill set.
So lets have a look to see the various ways those games and developers let players control the world of time.
