Come join us at one of Lansing’s most beloved traditions!

I’m Melanie Jongsma, Publisher of The Lansing Journal, and I’d love to invite you to the Good Neighbor Day Parade this Saturday in Lansing, Illinois.

This parade has been bringing our community together for nearly 60 years—and it’s one of my personal favorites. From childhood memories to covering the event as a reporter, it’s always been a day full of connection, celebration, and hometown pride.

📍 Where to find us:
Look for The Lansing Journal team near the southeast corner of Ridge & Burnham (First Savings Bank of Hegewisch parking lot or nearby).

📅 Date: Saturday, May 2, 2026
🕑 Time: Parade starts at 2 p.m. (lineup begins on Wentworth Ave)
☀️ Forecast: Sunny and cool — perfect parade weather!

Bring a lawn chair, some water, and a bag for candy and flyers—and come say hello!
