What is the mountain peak Doctor Pershing visits in The Mandalorian season three? It’s the very top of Umate, the tallest mountain on Coruscant, and the only natural piece of the planet that isn’t completely covered up by the city. Monument Plaza was built around the mountain to preserve it, and it became a place for inspiration and reflection. The Plaza was designed by Ralph McQuarrie in the 1995 book The Illustrated Star Wars Universe. It first appeared on screen in the special edition of Return of the Jedi, and was more prominently featured in The Clone Wars episode Duchess of Mandalore, which is the first time Umate itself was seen. During the High Republic era, during a time of crisis, the Chancellor of the Republic visited the mountain and came to a realization: “There was nothing so big it could not be swallowed up. Nothing so strong it could not be humbled. Nothing so tall it could not be made small. Not a mountain, and not the Republic.”
