I will admit that most folks have more important things to do than to ponder man's relationship with Nature. And everyone but a few of us old guys is busy doing what people do.
Therefore, I doubt if anyone will miss me while I stray away from the important things and amuse myself with musings about mentality in humans and in animals.
The squirrel above has learned some behaviors which other squirrels do not know unless they chance to live near some old "Fool On The Hill" like myself. Keyword there is "learned". This squirrel has learned to overcome his instinctive fear of humankind and has built up a trust between himself and my hand, which often holds pecans of interest to the squirrel.
See how that works?
Ever wonder why governments can't figure that out, so that our world could be at peace? Friendly sharing can bridge all sorts of instinctive impulses which arise from that mental vortex I call "Fear's Thought System".
What I practice with my forest friends is called "Love's Thought System".
