I started to write a song with video and sound effects from super hero movies. As soon as I laid down a bass beat, I realized that the effect sounded like Welcome to the Machine.
Then ... a change in direction. I hadn't covered Pink Floyd since last October, so I started programming synthesizers. The song is simple in chord structure, but the timing is actually trickier than I realized. For the guitar parts, I tuned the D-string up a tone to an E so I could easily get a nice drone sound.
