There are some unique, and interesting pieces of equipment which railroads use to keep the tracks clear and clean! One of the rarely seen ones, is a weed spraying train! Lets see a few of these trains at work; get a close up view of the equipment, and learn why railroads use these unique trains!
Lets chase a number of these specialized weed fighting trains as they go about their work. If railroads didn't use these, the ROW would quickly be fouled, and full of weeds! Foliage, and other plants along the tracks can foul, and prevent proper drainage, which can cause ties to rot early out early. These trains can have almost any type of locomotive pulling it, and we'll even see a Ferromex unit leading the way!!
