Arcanine, a defenseless porcupine living wild and free in Costa Rica, was viciously attacked with a machete. Our dedicated Costa Rica wildlife rescue team rushed to save him, performing life-saving surgery and using advanced fish skin treatment to help his wounds heal and protect him from infection.
But the truth is, the trauma Arcanine suffered means he can never go back to the wild. He will spend the rest of his life in our sanctuary, safe and loved - and he’s not alone. Every single one of the 49 injured animals in our care depends on us to survive, but we can’t do this without you.
