Peter Ward | We find a huge stone fireplace! @WarmDryHome | Uploaded 6 years ago | Updated June 15 2023
This is an almost pristine old house, probably mid Georgian, built of stone. 1960's repairs have covered much of the inside and we decided to investigate the fireplaces - this was a spectacular find - we were unprepared for the size and scale of the stone lintel. It also shows just how much dampness can come from a backfilled chimney - nearly 50 sacks of rubble, mostly wet soot and ash full of salts came out of it. Now we'll see the house start to dry properly. It will have a stainless steel liner fitted, and woodburning stove. One delighted client!
