Surveying a timber frame is a complex art form. You need to understand what makes a joint - how structural is the timber you are looking at? Is the timber original? What is causing damage and why? What will it cost to repair? What is causing movement? It is not hard to run up a bill for £100,000 on a timber frame - our job is to make sure that you are well informed when purchasing a new home, or get it right when specifying repairs to an existing house.
