In this video, I’ll show you step-by-step how I turned a beautiful ash wood bowl on the Harvey T60S Wood Lathe and gave it a stunning finish using Hampshire Sheen Midnight Blue Intrinsic Stain and White Embellishing Wax.
Here’s what I used in this project:
Lathe: Harvey T60S
Tools: Easy Wood Tools Carbide Woodturning Tools
Abrasives: Sanded to 240 grit with Klingspor Abrasives
Surface Prep: Yorkshire Grit Abrasive Paste
Color & Finish: Hampshire Sheen Midnight Blue Intrinsic Stain, White Embellishing Wax, and High Gloss Finishing Wax
The process:
✅ Shaping the ash blank into a bowl form
✅ Applying the Midnight Blue Intrinsic Stain for depth and richness
✅ Adding White Embellishing Wax to highlight the grain
✅ Polishing with Yorkshire Grit and finishing with High Gloss Wax for that perfect shine
