Team: Muneshige Tachibana, Ayane, Pang Tong
This is a rather dreary level driven by dialogue and events, essentially an autoscroller if you don't do anything that activates unnecessary messages. I have to dialogue skip every longer line to not lose time, and tight execution is secondary.
0:12 - you don't have to fight the first enemies that appear, but it doesn't cost any time either. I start angled glitch while I'm at it using Muneshige Tachibana (lv. 1).
0:35 - rare bug! Liu Shan should have said his "excuse me..." line at this point, but for some reason he never did so, which saved 2+ seconds. It's some rare dialogue oddity that only happened to me once in all of my attempts.
In this next part, some yellow targets spawn on the map. You have to defeat at least one to activate the next event. Defeating any more than one yields unnecessary dialogue lines, so I just defeat the minimal requirement of enemies and move onward to the south-west garrison.
1:17 - your next objective is to defeat Motochika Chosokabe, but doing so too early will prevent any red targets from appearing, softlocking the entire level. Waiting until the "approach Motochika Chosokabe" message appears on the screen is advisable. If you defeat him slightly before the message appears, the level may continue like normal, and as a side effect the appearance of the message is delayed (it will activate during level finale instead).
1:44 - This begins the "rescue Yoshimoto Imagawa" sequence. I make my way to the north-east corner of the map while using Pang Tong to move around. It might not be strictly necessary, but it looks stylish. Sadly, due to angled glitch, Pang Tong doesn't fly as far as he normally would with his air specials.
2:43 - I defeat the single officer near Imagawa to rescue him.
3:33 - the final target of the level (Galena) spawns near the south-east corner after all the dialogue has been spoken. I thought about what would be a reliable way to defeat the newly spawning officer as soon as possible. I decided to go with Ayane, since her musou hits a large radius and does a fairly decent damage at rapid intervals. This consistently defeats the final enemy almost as soon as he appears.
Orochi X works in a similar way too, although his musou deals far more damage but hits less rapidly.
(Note: Ayane wasn't maxed out on this run attempt, but even after I added Flak to her weapon and gave her 999 attack, she still took 3 hits of her musou to defeat Galena, so... it seems not being maxed out didn't cost any time. Unless there's still some additional buff I didn't think of that would have allowed her to 2-shot him.)
As for potential improvements, biggest thing would be to find a way to reduce the number of messages in the level. I tried taking Liu Shan in my party, but that didn't help. Perhaps, if you reached Yoshimoto Imagawa extremely quickly by some means, this would change the message queue? But it's hard to say. Benkei doesn't seem too useful in this level at any rate since it doesn't have a lot of background lag.
