One of my personal favourite topics to cover in 2024 was the worm tub whiskies, there was an excellent mix of new and old with some of them proving to be really enjoyable. The Ardnahoe and Ballindalloch expressions in particular have gone on to be favourites around here and I think there’s an element of how the spirits are condensed - through those odd but charming worm tubs - adding to that enjoyment.
But of course, as you quite rightly pointed out at the time, we didn’t really cover all of the worm tub distilleries and failed to mention some of the most famous distillates still using worm tubs to this day. So, this week, we’ll go some way towards rectifying that and hop into some bottles on hand, with maybe one or two newbies, that have enjoyed that special worm-tub treatment.
