The Vought F6U Pirate was a jet fighter developed for the US Navy in the mid-1940's. It was the first naval fighter with an afterburner and composite material construction. However the Vought F6U Pirate was underpowered and was considered unsuitable for combat, and saw very limited operational use.

In 1918 Swedish volunteers formed the Swedish Brigade (Svenska brigaden). The Swedes were fighting for the Whites in the Finnish Civil War.
The voluntary Swedish soldiers participated in fighting in Finland and played a part in the battle of Tampere. However the Swedes particpation of the Swedes was not uncontroversial.
