The Lockheed P-38 Lighting was a twin-engine, twin-boom American fighter aircraft used during World War 2. Over 10 000 P-38 Lightnings were produced. It served as a fighter, fighter-bomber and reconnaisance aircraft.

In 1918 Swedish volunteers formed the Swedish Brigade (Svenska brigaden). The Swedes were fighting for the Whites in the Finnish Civil War.
The voluntary Swedish soldiers participated in fighting in Finland and played a part in the battle of Tampere. However the Swedes particpation of the Swedes was not uncontroversial.
