The Boeing B-47 Stratojet was a six-engine, turbojet nuclear reconnaisance bomber, that began development during World War 2. It used a swept-wing design, inspired by German designs of World War 2. The Boeing B-47 Stratojet was an important part of US nuclear deterrent during the 1950's, and the last Stratojets were retired in 1977.

The MiG-25 Foxbat (NATO name) was one of the fastest military aircraft ever to enter service. It was constructed as an interceptor, mainly in stainless steel, and was a heavy and not very agile aircraft, although NATO feared it would be.
