Back again on the Volvo V50 D5 SE. In this episode we trace and repair a fault with the EGR system.
It started off with intermittent limp mode (no power, poor acceleration), but over about a week, the
fault became permanent and the car was not really driveable anymore. Time to have a closer look.
It turned out the EGR valve is mechanically ok, so just another electronics issue.

The procedure as shown does apply to Volvo C30, S40, V50 V70 models with the Euro 4 D5 engine,
(5 cyl, 2.4 ltr Diesel with DPF)
Depending on engine mapping and transmission, values might be slightly different, but the general principle is exactly the same.
This particular car is an RHD 2007 Volvo V50 D5 SE with an AW55-51 automatic transmission,
current mileage is around 167000 miles (267200 km)
